Global Poverty Problem Why no poverty? While global poverty rates have been cut by more than half since 2000, one in ten people in developing regions are still living with their families on less than the international poverty line of US$1.90 a day, and there are millions more who make little more than this daily amount. Poverty is more than the lack of income and resources to ensure a sustainable livelihood. Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion as well as the lack of participation in decision-making. Writing Opinion on an article 50 shades of beige: Foundation and our obsession with fair skin. In my opinion, this article is very interesting, because it highlights the systemic racism and racial prejudice towards people of color that still lingers 70 years after European colonialism in this country has officially ended. Even though brown skin is the majority in Indonesia, people still uphold the belief that lighter skin and other features prominently found in white women were superior. While progress towards inclusivity is starting to take notice in other countries, Indonesia seems to be making little to no progress at all. TH Should ban pornography I agree with this decision but not for the reason you might think, I believe porn for underage viewers like students is a real problem not because sex is bad but because it gives off a really unrealistic view of sex for young boys. It divorces sex from emotions particularly those of kindness, respect, and love. It also degrades both parties through fantasy and immorality. But just banning porn isn't going to solve anything. When people eat badly we don't restrict them from eating at all, instead, we help them improve their diet. The same applies to here, we can't abolish porn and the sexual drive that feeds it. Instead what we need to do is better the sexual education given to our children. We need to abolish the stigma and shame around sex and instead accept it as part of our normal lives.
